5 Makeup Products I Had to Try

Makeup

IMG-0772There’s nothing better than new makeup goodies!  Luckily, two things I really needed, well wanted,  turned up in my PopSugar Must Have subscription box the other day.  PS. This is the best Subscription Box I’ve ever tried.  Full of amazing surprises every month!

Here’s the 5 things I’m using now…photo1. bareMinerals BARE PRO Performance Wear Powder Foundation  Since I only wear a tinted moisturizer, I like the idea of having more coverage from a pressed powder.  I’m not a fan of loose powder because with 2 toddlers and white rugs, too many things could go wrong.  This is my first foray into bareMinerals, I usually use Glo Minerals, so I’ll give feedback as I’ve used this more.  I chose the color 04 Aspen to match my fair skin.  Hopefully its a good match!

2. Laura Mercier All Over Face Colour Brush  I use this brush to apply pressed powder.  It has a great texture and applies more evenly than a sponge, for me at least.  I don’t want a super opaque application.  I want a more natural look.  This brush is a limited edition but you can still find it.  I love how soft the bristles are.

3. Black Lace Rabbit Cream Blush by Lipstick Queen  I got this little treasure in my Pop Sugar Must Have Box for September.  My girlfriend Alison Page works for Lipstick Queen and had been telling me all about this amazing cream blush.  It is black in the package and transforms on you, based on your skin tone.  It’s really cool, applies easily with a stippling brush, and look great on!

4. Real Techniques by Sam & Nic Stippling Brush  Not gonna lie, I had a much more expensive stippling brush in hand at Ulta, but saw this on my way to the register.  I’m a sucker for a deal, so I grabbed it.  I’m sure there are better brushes out there, but I just needed a brush solely to apply the Lipstick Queen cream blush with.  I’ll give feedback as I’ve used it more.

5. Last, but certainly not least, FIGS & ROUGE Light Reflective brightening primer & illuminator.  This little goodie came in my Pop Sugar Must Have box.  I wasn’t at all familiar with this line, but I think its a winner!  It’s an oil-free weightless mineral gel primer.  It has a universal shade and lasts through out the day.  I wore it out last night and my skin looked bright and luminous all evening.  This is a must try for sure!  I love oil free products, as I tend to break out with oily products.

There you have it, my 5 favorite makeup products right now.  I’ve included links to each one, in case you feel the need to play with them.

XOXO,

Amanda

    1. I was told by my makeup artist friend that it was the best brush for a cream blush and it blends like airbrushed makeup. I agree with her that it blends beautifully and seamlessly.
