My little family recently had a photo shoot hoping to get that perfect shot for our Christmas cards. I found a gem of a photographer in Megan Hitchens Photography. She has an incredible eye, and I love her esthetic. A big plus is that she also has small children, so she understands that kids are unpredictable. She came to our home and we did the shoot in our yard and in our neighbor’s yard.
I’m notorious for procrastinating prep for these family shoots. I usually have no idea what we’re all wearing until the morning of. This time, I was slightly more prepared. I even bought Thayer an outfit specifically for this shoot. Everything else was already in our closets. I wanted a different look and feel this year. I tend to do more Fall colors, navy, burgundy, denim. I wanted a lighter, brighter feeling this year. I think we accomplished the look I wanted.

My 4 year old is at a great age and he was very cooperative, flashing that gorgeous smile! My 2 year old was in no mood for the shoot and made it quite difficult, but Megan is a pro and she was able to capture some really cute moments.
